Obituary for Ralph Robertson

Ralph Robertson
ROBERTSON, Ralph Edmund –
It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Ralph Robertson on Sunday, January 14, 2018 at Ottawa, in his 83rd year. Beloved husband of 46 years to Sylvia (Brown) and loving father of Terry (Ray Sacha) of Calgary, Sandra (Richard Dolan) of Ottawa, Connie Paul (Arnie) of Brantford and Brett (Jennifer Maheral) of Kars. Proud Granddad to Alex, Ashley and Candice Paul and Cooper and Callum Robertson. Brother of Murray Robertson (Jean) of Athens, Ontario. Predeceased by parents John and Iwilla Robertson and brother James. Brother in law of Sandra Molaro (Reg) of Kingston and the late J. David Brown. Also survived and missed by many nieces and nephews.
Ralph lived life to its fullest displaying a wonderful sense of humor and enjoyment of practical jokes, time at “the cottage” and the company of his many friends. Through his entrepreneurial skills and keen sense of business, he excelled with hard work & determination, with his last business venture in Access Taxi. Ralph was a dedicated volunteer for many years with the Ottawa West Golden Knights Minor Hockey Association and Birch Island Association. Remembering Ralph at the BBQ with a great piece of beef; tending to his flowers and vegetables and casting a fishing line on Sand Lake are some of our fondest memories of him.
The family wishes to express their heartfelt thanks to faithful friend Gord Rennick who visited Ralph weekly for many months and the outstanding staff and volunteers at Carleton Lodge for their kindness, excellent care and compassion. Special thanks to Lucia, RN.
A Celebration of Ralph’s Life will be held at the Royal Canadian Legion (Branch # 504), 306 Lyndhurst Road, Lyndhurst from 1 to 4 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations be made to Parkinson Society of Canada in Ralph’s memory.
