Dear Judy:

This year the grant selection committee has had the difficult task of selecting a recipient from several excellent applicants offering a variety of services to the citizens of the North Leeds Region. It is very reassuring to see the ways in which our community responds to the needs of its people. We are proud to be involved in this effort.

Congratulations to you, your officers and members. The 2013 Scotland Funeral Home Community Service Grant has been awarded to the Rideau Sewing Club.

I realize the officers and members involved are strictly on a volunteer basis and rely directly on their ability to raise funds locally from only a few service clubs as well as a few interested and concerned citizens.  It is also important for us to know that you provide at least 30 pillow cases and quilts per month to our local hospitals and of course to C.H.E.O. in Ottawa. I found the Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario donation very moving and expresses only great compassion and extreme generosity from your involvement. The dialysis patients in Smiths Falls and Perth would also feel very comforted by your good deeds.

I sincerely feel that what you and your group of many volunteers are doing is truly remarkable, your dedication is outstanding. I feel it is so very important for us to assist in this very worthwhile project, which in a very small way will help and enable you (the committee) to keep ding and providing the great items you are manufacturing with your special loving care.  It is also very important for me to know that all monies received from this grant will go directly toward keeping your actual costs at a minimum and hopefully enabling you to produce the same great quality products as what you have been already providing.  In closing, we honestly feel with the funds from this awarded grant, only good and positive results may be achieved by your organization.

Judy, if you would contact me in the very near future, we would be able to discuss a convenient time and place for the presentation of the awarded funds. Again, Congratulations.

Respectfully:
